Baptism - Kailynne Victoria Catherine

I sent out the following email to family and friends (people I had email addresses for).  Just wanted to share it on the blog as well.  In case anyone didn't get it.

Good Afternoon,

I wanted to let everyone know about Kailynne’s baptism.  We will be sending out invitations closer to the baptism date.  But for those of you that are coming from out of town, I wanted to get this information to you sooner.  Her baptism date is Sunday, September 1st at 9:30am.  This is memorial day weekend, so most have off that Monday.

After her baptism, we will have a small gathering around 11-11:30 at our house.  We will be renting a tent, tables, and chairs for the backyard.  We will have it catered with sandwiches, finger foods, drinks etc.  And of course a cake! J  I will get a headcount once we send out the invitations around July.

Kailynne will be baptized at the same church we were married.  St Mark’s Catholic Church.  Her God parents are Michael and Heather Webber.

I hope everyone can attend.  We completely understand if you can not attend.  We don’t want anyone to feel obligated.  We just wanted to invite everyone, so no one is left out.  We are extremely excited to bring our little one into the faith!  We are definitely blessed!

**I have only sent this email out to people that I have email addresses for.  Feel free to forward this to other family**

23 Weeks (sorry it's late!)

We've been pretty busy here lately.  Sorry I didn't get to the blog on Sunday.  I had class all day on Saturday and Sunday we did a lot of homework.  Evan is having midterms and I'm having finals this week.  So it's been a little hectic.

Oh!!  We got Kailynne some cute headbands as well!  All different sizes!  She is going to be adorable!

We toured a pediatrician's office tonight.  We were extremely impressed.  We absolutely love the practice.  And the agree with the way we want to parent our  daughter.  We sat and were told a lot of old wives tales that weren't what the pediatrician's re-guarded as fact.  Some other concepts that we have were re-affirmed.  We were very pleased with the doctor.

Sunday was 23 weeks for baby Kailynne!!

your baby's the size of a grapefruit!
At about 10.5 to 11.8 inches and about 12.7 to 20.8 ounces, baby's not just getting bigger, she's getting even cuter.
your baby at 23 weeks
  • She's forming little nipples (yeah, really!)
  • Her face is fully formed now -- she just needs a little extra fat to fill it out.
  • She's listening to your voice and your heartbeat -- and even to loud sounds like cars honking and dogs barking.

22 Weeks!!

We had some snow fall on Saturday!  It didn't last long and it didn't stick.  But it's always pretty to see.  Just glad it didn't stick around! :)  Kosar and Bentley went out to play in it some.  But came back in pretty quickly.  Neither one of them likes the cold.

Today is Kailynne's 22 weeks!  :)  Only 14 weeks until we are full term.  And 18 weeks until our due date.  She has been measuring a week ahead, so her due date might be moved up.  We will see.

your baby's the size of a papaya!
During month five, the average fetus measures about 10.5 to 11.8 inches and weighs about 12.7 to 20.8 ounces.
your baby at 22 weeks
  • Now that he's got more developed eyes and lips, he's looking even more like a newborn.
  • He's sleeping in cycles -- about 12 to 14 hours per day (hint: they're probably those times you're not feeling any kicks!).

21 Weeks!

Great Weekend!!  I got off work early on Friday to come home and eat an early dinner with Evan.  Evan had his sleep study in Fayetteville Friday night.  I drove him there.  Good news!  He does not have sleep apnea! :)  I am extremely relieved.  We came on Saturday morning, I had to pick him up at 5:30am.  And we took a nap.  When we woke up, we spent time cleaning, doing laundry, and running errands.  We finally got our bedroom TV for each other that we were doing as a Christmas present.  Ha!  Finally got the energy to get out and get it. Evan cleaned the vents in the house, prepping for Kailynne!

Charity and Olivia paid us a visit yesterday.  They brought us a couple of outfits for baby Kailynne.  Olivia played with Kosar and Bentley, they were worn out after playing with her a couple of hours.  :)

Taking a well deserved nap, while I'm doing homework.

Happy 21 weeks Kailynne Victoria Catherine!!

your baby's the size of a pomegranate!
At 10.5 inches and about 12.7 ounces, she's big enough now that you've probably been feeling her movements.

your baby at 21 weeks
  • As her digestive system preps for the outside world, she's manufacturing meconium -- the tarry black substance you'll find in her first dirty diaper (ew)!
  • If it's a girl, she's already got a lifetime's supply of eggs in her womb -- about six million of them!

Nursery Progress

Kailynne's nursery is almost finished!! :)  We put up are tree and shelves today.  Her room is coming along nicely.

20 Weeks!! Half way! :)

Happy 20 Weeks baby Kailynne!!  We have been working on the nursery some this weekend.  I had class all day yesterday and then helped Evan with some homework.  Today we are going to be working more on Kailynne's nursery.  And we went to lunch to celebrate Kailynne being healthy, adorable, and half way to being here!

your baby's the size of a banana!
Baby weighs about 10.2 ounces and measures about 6.5 inches (head to rump). She's still got a lot of growing to do though. Can you believe you're halfway done?

your baby at 20 weeks
  • She's got working taste buds.
  • Now, she's gulping down several ounces of amniotic fluid each day -- that's significantly more than before.

Kailynne's Room

Kailynne's room is coming along nicely!! :)  This is above her crib in her room.
