Pups playing with Momma...

So yesterday while Evan was helping Frankie fix his roof... I took the pups out back and we played fetch.  Our back yard seems so much bigger now without the weeping willows.  The pups definitely got a lot of exercise running around like crazy! :) 


Here is Kosar after he got done playing fetch... He is such a Momma's boy.  I love this baby with all my heart!  Oh and fun fact of the day, Evan took Kosar to the vet today to get his nails clipped and to get his heart worm pills - he weighs 83lbs!!  

Here is Bentley after he got done chasing Kosar, while Kosar was playing fetch... Bentley started cheating half way through playing fetch and stayed at the other end of the yard waiting for the ball to be thrown at the end of the yard.  Bentley's fun fact: During the hurricane Bentley was trying to run outside to go to the bathroom and the wind kept blowing him over!! :)  

Clean Up Time...

So today was a long day! Evan went to Frankie's house this morning and helped him cut down a tree that had fallen, while he was there I mowed the lawn and put all the patio furniture back out.  Then the boys came to the house and cut down our weeping willows and a tree that we had on the side of the house that was doing some damage to the house during the hurricane.  I helped with removing the branches.  We also helped the neighbor cut down the branches from a tree of there's that was hit by the hurricane.  And helped them fix their fence.  Below are some pictures of the boys cutting down the trees... And then our bare yard... 

We are going to replace the trees... But we are going to replace them with smaller trees that won't get hit so bad with our hurricanes.  Unfortunately, our weeping willows just couldn't handle the hurricane.  :(  

Afterwards...

We have made out pretty well through the Hurricane... One of our weeping willows is uprooted in the backyard and is leaning up against the house and fence.  Our other weeping willow is leaning over, but hasn't uprooted yet.  One of the trees in our front yard is loose in the ground and leaning some, but once the ground hardens back up it should be fine.  There are tree limbs all over the yard from our big tree in the front yard.  The Hurricane tore that tree apart.  The roof is missing some shingles as well, but other than that.  We made out fairly well.  The sandbags worked well and kept the house dry! :)  I have a picture below of our weeping willow that was uprooted... 

Evan will be chopping it up tomorrow.  RIP weeping willow.  Evan is happy.  He hates these trees.  

Almost Over...

We are still getting hit with Hurricane Irene... But it is almost over... The rain and winds are still pretty strong.  It has claimed our weeping willow in the back yard and a bunch of tree limps.  We haven't had a chance to see if anything else has happened.  We still have power.  It has only flickered here and there.  We are very lucky.  There are over 61,000 people in New Hanover County that don't have power.  Here is a picture of the Hurricane radar...

Update... Hurricane Irene

Just an update...


We still have power.  The wind has picked up and it is still raining.  Kosar definitely does not like this wind at all.  But we are fine and everything is great at the house so far... :)  Below is a picture of where the storm is hitting right now... Again - Wilmington is highlighted in the white outline.  

Hurricane Update

Okay... So the hurricane is supposed to hit us at a strong category 2 now.  We getting the outer rain and wind bands right now.  I got off work at 12:30 today.  So we are both at home together with the pups.  We are prepared with sandbags and all the necessities.  Here is a picture of the storm starting to approach us.  Wilmington is highlighted in white.

Hurricanes, Tornados, Earthquakes - Oh My!

Today VA was hit with a 5.8 earthquake, we felt it down here in Wilmington... But we are still looking towards Hurricane Irene.  It's supposed to hit us at a category 3 Saturday morning/evening.  Hopefully the hurricane moves east and we only experience a mild storm - here's to hoping! 

In other news... We are meeting with one the cake people tomorrow at 6:00 to go over some cake choices! We are definitely excited about that.  We are setting up another meeting with another cake person next Tuesday as well.  So we should have our baker in the next couple of weeks.  Everything seems to be going great with the wedding planning!! <3

Hurricane Irene...

Hurricane Irene is making it's way towards us now... And there have been tornados spotted throughout southern Wilmington. Different weather reports are saying different things about the hurricane... We've heard varying things from the hurricane hitting us at a category 3, a category 2, and a category 1.  The latest is that it's going to hit us at a category 2 Saturday evening.  Because of this we had to cancel our engagement pictures... :(  We have rescheduled them for September 1st.  If the hurricane keeps building strength to a category 4, we are going up north to stay with my daddy for the weekend.  Hopefully it doesn't come to that... 

Friends weekend!!

This weekend was a great weekend.  We had our friend Jonathan in town.  We have been watching his black lab Cooper all week.  Jonathan spent the weekend with us.  We went out to dinner with Jonathan and my friend Stephanie Friday night.  And Saturday evening we met up with a my friend (and old co-worker) downtown for a couple of drinks. 


The other day me and Evan went to the mall to look at rings... And we ordered our wedding bands!! :)  We are super excited!! They will take several weeks to come in since mine has to be re-sized and Evan's has to be special ordered.  We are also getting our engagement pictures taken on Saturday the 27th at Kure Beach!! <3  

Once we get the pictures back, we will definitely post some of them!

Such a great week...

This week Evan had Seps and Taps... He was driving back and forth up and base Monday through Thursday, so he decided to take the Honda to save on gas.  Which meant that I had to drive the truck back and forth to work.  Which is kind of interesting considering that I'm 5'2"... And that truck is HUGE.  While driving his truck I looked up and saw this picture... 

He is such a sweetheart!! <3 He melts my heart!! 


Oh!!  And me and Evan are going to have a new nephew or niece!!  My sister is pregnant again!!  Mikayla just turned 2 on July 22nd (at 8:22pm!) and my sister went for her first ultra sound appointment on August 16th (2 years and 1 month after her due date with Mikayla).  She is due March 30th.  We are definitely excited to have a nephew or another niece!  2012 will be a great year!! 

FX2 bed cover

Evan got his new truck bed cover in on Friday and had me help him install it today.  It was definitely a pain.  But it looks great! :)  We had to hurry up too!  It was getting ready to storm pretty bad... We got it on just in time though! Here is the picture!  

We found our florist!!

We found our florist today!!  We have met and received quotes from three different florist.  Today we met with Beautiful Flowers by June.  We met with her for about an hour and a half.  She took the time to go through every little detail on all the different flower arrangements with us! :)  She even ordered in calla lilies for me so I can see how it would feel to hold a certain amount in my bouquet.  She is just amazing to work with!  She even gave me some of the calla lilies to take home! :)  I love her!  She's great!!  Below is a picture of the flowers she gave me... 

Wedding Updates!

It's Friday... :)  Me and Evan have a meeting with our photographer tomorrow... We are setting our photo session for engagement pictures.  Our photographer's website is http://www.billbarron.com/.  We got our NYC proposal pictures developed and we are picking them up Saturday evening.  We can't wait to get them back!!  


Tuesday we have a meeting with another florist. We have already met with one and I have traded emails with another one.  Beautiful Flowers by June is the one we are meeting with Tuesday.  Her website is http://www.beautifulflowersbyjune.com/.  Everything seems to be coming together quite nicely!  We are both super excited!!  We have gotten so much done in just two weeks! :) 

Mikayla's Bike!

So in all of the craziness of New York City and our engagement... I forgot to post pictures of Mikayla getting her bike!!  She absolutely loved it!!  She jumped right on it.  After a couple of days, she was getting better with the pedals.  I have pictures below... The first picture is the of her at her birthday party- she jumped right on it!!  And the second one is me helping her learn to pedal her bike.  She was so cute!  I love this little girl!!
